Everlasting (Immortals #6) by Alyson Noel Review

3 STARS

Everlasting was a step up from it's last several preceding books.(SPOILERS!)

I believe the series could of been better if the series had only been 3 or 4 books instead of 6. I felt that the plot for the series was way dragged out and the characters repetively made the same mistakes and did not learn from them. Ever was overly shallow in this series but she was much more tolerable in this book from middle to the end.

But I am not saying I completely hate this book as it did have it's good spots. I loved the whole spirituality behind it and that the soul is immortal and not the body and there are consequences to immortality and the characters actually chose a mortal life over an immortal one.

I really enjoyed reading the first life that started this whole story for the characters and how it interlinked with not only Ever and Damen but nearly the whole cast of characters. Instead of Ever really giving me a headache it was Damen, he just seemed to not learn anything at all and never putting trust into Ever when he is always on her about her not trusting him. Seriously, what the hell? I was literally shouting at him when he said the Tree of Life didn't exist and refused to believe it did, because it okay to believe there is a drink that makes you not age or die and manifest objects out of air but a magical tree is impossible?

Ever was annoying me with her normal stupidity in the beginning, this was the long awaited character development I was waiting for in the other 5 books. She didn't run away from her mistakes and *shock horror* wanted to graduate and make things up with her aunt.

But again as I said earlier this series should of been 3 or 4 books considering how small every book is this would be an easy feat to accomplish.

The Legend of Korra E03 Review/Recap: The Revelation

So if you didn't know the third episode of The Legend of Korra episode aired in America on the 21st at 11:00 am.

This episode begins with Avatar Korra and her Fire Ferrets friends Mako and Bolin who are also brothers. They are training in preparation for their next Pro-bending match. They are soon told that they must come up with 30,000 Yuans by the next week or they are kicked out of the tournament. So Mako and Bolin try to find ways to come up with the money while Korra is doing her training for Airbending.

Mako uses his firebending skills to lightning bend at the powerplant to get some moeny while Bolin tries to get money off the streets by getting his pet fire ferret: Pabu to do tricks to earn some cash wher he is approached by one of the bending gangs who offers him a lot of cash to help them. Knowing how important it is to get the money Bolin accepts and heads off with him.

When Mako gets home he sees that Bolin is still not back so he heads out to see if he is with Korra but of course he isn't so along with Naga and later Pabu, Korra and Mako search the streets for Bolin where they are confronted by some equalists who know how to chi block after seeing them take Bolin and a bunch of other benders. The chi blockers end up taking away Korra and Mako's bending abilities temporarily before Naga and Pabu intervene to stop the Equalists from finishing them off.
The two continue their search all night before finding out that Amon is having a sort of secret meeting for non-benders called THE REVELATION.
Once they figured out where the meeting is they disguise themselves and head to the meeting.

They soon discover Amon's big secret that he can energybend and take away a person's bending permanantly. But makes it out to the non-benders that the spirits gave this power to him since the Avatar is now useless and causes destruction instead of peace and balance in the world. They witness him enerbybend all these gang members and when about to take Bolin's bending away Korra provides a distraction so Mako can grab Bolin. After a bit more fighting the three escape as Amon stops his minions so Korra can tell the city what is going on most likely so to get more followers and put the whole city in fear.

So I thought this was a good episode and let us learn more about Amon and the Equalists since we knew next to nothing about them before. We also learnt a little a bit about Mako and Bolin's past and what happened to their parents. We also see little bit of hints of Korra and Mako being a possible couple but not enough to be exactly sure. Although this was a very dark and serious episode it still had it's funny moments that still kept the episode still fun and enjoyable in a light-hearted way. I definitely cannot wait for the next episode and enjoying our new characters and in my opinion different from the first show but in a good way and we seem to have very good solid villian which will be interesting.

I feel this show could be great for anyone of all ages and people need to stop thinking it's a kid show because even though it is advertised as this it deals with some things a kid wouldn't completely understand and this is definitely much more mature than it's first series not to mention the main characters are much older.

The Golden Lily (Bloodlines #2) by Richelle Mead Review

4.5 STARS
Thank you to my mate Kellie for the ARC :D

I am going to try and make this non-spoilery as possible.

What can I say about The Golden Lily...
First off that I love it and that people still waiting for it to come out, I promise you it is worth the wait.

It is not set long after where Bloodlines was left at, with it being at least a month since.

Sydney was definitely my favourite character in this book. I felt she has become a much more confident person than of what she was in Bloodlines where she seemed to be walking on eggshells most of the time. She was definitely hilarious at times (in a different way to Adrian). She is definitely not physically strong like Rose was but Sydney does have a few tricks up her sleeve.

Jill is less whiny in this book and seems to have matured much more since Bloodlines, although I wouldn't say she was a complete joy to read in this book either.

Angeline was tolerant but I found her much like what Jill was in Bloodlines with getting in trouble at school, she also reminds me of Rose in the earlier books with her hit first think later attitude.

Eddie was just too much of sweetheart for his own good but I feel we haven't seen all of him and hope he is much more explored in later books.

Adrian was hilarious as usual, and if you are not an Adrian fan already I think you will by the end of this book. We see a much more vulnerable side of him that you may not have noticed in the Vampire Academy series.

My favourite scenes were definitely interactions between Sydney and Adrian. They're probably my two favourite characters in the whole VA/Bloodlines series. It is always funny and you cannot help but smile the whole time.

There was a lot of romance and definitely made up for the lack of in Bloodlines. It did have action and scenes that had you on the edge of your seat in anticipation although not a lot.
I felt the first half of the book was lacking and in comparision to the second half very dull. I felt Richelle Mead's foreshadowing was way too obvious for me and made it seem that the characters were too stupid to figure it out sooner. I felt as a result that I knew what was to come in future books. I also didn't like Dimitri being in the book but I guess that is just me and everyone else will be ecstatic to read a scene with him in it.

But beside that I really did enjoy The Golden Lily and think it is a definite step up from Bloodlines.

This book was such a fun read. I couldn't help but smile the whole time.
When coming into this book, I was thinking it being much like She's the Man but it suprisingly was able to be it's own story with just as much humour and quirkiness much like it's cover which reminds me of when I drew mustaches like these at my time at school (I admittedly still do this).
Although it does share the whole getting hit in the balls with a ball and the girl falling for the roomate it honestly didn't bother me and were fairly different.
It was interesting seeing how boy language worked and how restricted boys actually are making me appreaciate my freedom as a girl.
I doubt anyone cannot smile while reading this book it is just that infectious and definitely recommend to anyone who just want a good light laugh and girls still wondering why that damn boy hasn't called you back when he said to you he would. I promise you find the answer here.

Wings of the Wicked (Angelfire #2) by Courtney Allison Moulton Review

5 Stars
What a great sequel to Angelfire.
Honestly this was so great and dark compared to it's predessor.
CAM does a fantastic job:
*Endless fight scenes that are well described and are never old.
*Death-I won't say anymore but everything in association with that word was just great and dealt with perfectly and realistically
*Ellie chooses who she wants to be with, instead of beating around the bush and avoiding the love triangle being the plot of this book and the next boook. Finally a heroine who is friggin intelligent!
*Ellie still faces challenges and nothing comes easy to her, she also doesn't completely ditch her family and friends and still has a social life.
*Ellie contemplates having sex before marriage like nearly every teenager does today. What a shock!
*Plot is unique and very detailed, wow an author that actually researched for her novel.

So if you haven't gotten the hint yet, go read this book. Whether you are an action girl or a romantic this is fantastic and I think everyone needs to read this series.

*Anxiously waits for the third book*

On The Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta

Note: This was originally reviewed in March and appeared on my goodreads.

5 Stars
This has to be my favourite Melina Marchetta book.
I didn't think I would like it since I am over the cliche orphan at boarding school, but it was written perfectly in a way that I can't even force myself to hate it.
I will admit that the book was a bit confusing at first and I actually went back and read the previous chapters because I thought I had missed something.
I loved these characters. They were obviously not perfect and were very flawed, yet I still loved them. Taylor was definitely a fave of mine.
This book managed to make me feel an array of emotions as well as make me laugh and cry.
It just felt so real and the romance was just beautful

Recommend this to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
